Fiorentina vs Inter Milan
Preview and Betting tip for Round 6 in the Italian Serie A 2014-2015 between the hosts Fiorentina and the visitors Inter Milan on the 5th October 2014 at 20:45 CET. Both teams are coming off strong Europa League wins on Thursday. Milan have an advantage on Fiorentina on paper as they have beaten them 3 of last 4 times they've met in the Italian Serie A. Despite this, Fiorentina have the home field advantage where they haven't allowed a goal in 3 games through all competitions.

Fiorentina

Fiorentina are a defensive-minded squad built to withstand the best attackers in the world. Having conceded a mere 3 goals in 5 matches played in Italian Serie A competition this season, the defense will look to continue its dominance at the Stadio Artemio Franchi where they haven’t allowed a goal through three matches in all competitions. Offense has been the main problem under club manager Vincenzo Montella. Through 5 Italian league matches played, they have managed only 2 goals scored. This wasn’t the case however in their Thursday night match against Belarus-based club team, Dinamo Minsk. They put on a show in front of the home fans scoring three goals while allowing none. Led by striker Frederico Bernardeschi, Fiorentina looked strong and sharp in the attack for the first time all year. Drawing praise from Vincenzo Montella, look for this young striker to continue building into a dominate force. Injuries to stars such as Marko Marin, Mario Gomez, and Giuseppe Rossi have clearly slowed down what was looking to be a bright year for the Florence side. However, dominate defense will be the main key to success until these stars return, and they will help bolster the Fiorentina attack before years end.

Inter

Inter Milan have been playing well this season garnering only one loss through the first 5 Italian Serie A matches. Coming off a solid 2-0 Europa League win away at Qarabag, Inter will look to continue their newfound success in Florence on Sunday. Led by 2nd year manager, Walter Mazzarri, the team has been revitalized through smooth transfer acquisitions on defense mainly found in new center back, Nemanda Vidic. Coming over from English Premier League powerhouse Manchester United after a poor season has greatly helped Vidic refocus his game, and his leadership is showing already on Milan’s backline who have only allowed a goal scored against them per game. The Nerazzurri enter Florence on Sunday with the hopes of taking a point away from the home favorites, Fiorentina. They have a great history against the Florence side staying unbeaten against them in 17 of their last 18 meetings. Look for a slow, defensive approach as both teams will rely on the counterstrike to put them ahead, with few shots challenging either keeper.
