Bayern Munich defend Bundesliga against Bayer Leverkusen without Manuel Neuer
German goalkeeper was injured  in the left foot in April and missed the end of the season when Bayern crowned the German league championship for the twenty-seventh.

Neuer had hoped for a match on Friday night, but Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti had decided to keep him for the next game.

"We do not take any risks for Manuel Noir," Ancelotti told a news conference before the match.

"We will see how next week will be but I think he will be able to play against Bremen."

Gavi Martinez, James Rodriguez, Tiago, Juan Burnat and Jerome Boateng are absent from the match

Bayern Munich finished last season by 15 points from their nearest rivals.

"We are very happy that the season is about to begin and our dream is to be champions again, I am excited about the second season at Bayern," said Ancelotti.

"We are looking to win against Leverkusen," Ancelotti said.

"The first game is always tough but I think we are ready for the game, I hope we offer a good show."

On the other hand, Leverkusen coach Haiku Herlich hopes this season to win his first game.

"We will go to Munich to get three points."
