German nun Ruth Pfau
Pakistan on Saturday organized an official funeral in Karachi for German nanny Ruth Pfau , who dedicated her life to eradicating leprosy in the Asian nation.

After the Mass, which was held at St. Patrick's Church, Pakistani President Mamoun Hussein, Army Commander General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Air Force Commander Marshal Suhail Aman and other officials attended the burial ceremony.

She died on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at the age of 87.

Ruth Pfau has lived in Pakistan since 1960. Her center for fighting leprosy in Karachi was the first hospital in Pakistan to treat the disease. And opened many branches across the predominantly Muslim country.
