Major General Mahmoud Hijazi meets Japanese Minister of Defense for Military Cooperation
General Mahmoud Hijazi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, met with Japanese Defense Minister Tomohiro Yamamoto and his accompanying delegation currently visiting Egypt.

The meeting reviewed the developments in the Middle East region and its repercussions at the regional and international levels and discussed a number of issues aimed at supporting the prospects of cooperation and military relations between the armed forces of both countries in the light of the recent visit of the chief of staff to Tokyo.

He praised the historic relations between the two friendly countries, and expressed his hope to expand the horizons of partnership and cooperation in the military and technical fields to support efforts to address the challenges that threaten the security and stability of the region and the world.

On the other hand, the Minister of State for Defense of Japan confirmed the consensus on dealing with many files and topics that challenge the efforts of international peace and security, pointing out his country's keenness to increase bilateral cooperation in the various defense fields.
The meeting was attended by a number of leaders of the armed forces and the Japanese ambassador in Cairo.
