The Slovenian team continued their European Championship basketball campaign after qualifying for the first time in their history, following their deserved win (92-72) over the Spanish champions, "champions" Thursday, in the semi-finals of the tournament.

The 18-year-old Luka Duncić took the lead in the match, having made a big contribution to the Slovenian win, scoring 11 points, 12 assists and eight assists, without making any mistake in passing the ball.

Goran Drajic and Antoni Randolph scored 15 points each, leading Slovenia to stripping Spain of their title in the last edition of the competition two years ago.

The Slovenian side will meet in the final, which will be held next Sunday, with the winner of the other semi-final meeting, which will be held on Friday, between the teams of Russia and Serbia.

Pau Gasol scored 16 points, leading Spain's top scorer, who has finished fourth in the last five editions of the championship, but the team will try to recover quickly in order to win the bronze medal in the third and fourth place.
