The BRICS leaders call for a permanent solution to the Syrian issue and conflicts in the Middle East
The leaders of the BRICS countries - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa - called for a permanent settlement of the Syrian issue. Stressing that the only solution to the crisis is through a comprehensive political process stemming from the Syrian people and led by himself to protect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the country.

The BRICS leaders at the "Xiamen Declaration" issued at the Ninth Brix Summit in Xiamen, China, on Monday expressed their willingness to make further contributions to the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and their willingness to help find a just and lasting solution to the Middle East conflict, To promote peace and stability in the region.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of Iraq and their support for the Iraqi government and its people.

At the same time, they expressed their concern about the deteriorating situation in Yemen and urged all sides to cease hostilities and resume negotiations with the support of the United Nations.
The statement stressed that "no state must strengthen its security at the expense of the security of others."

The BRICS leaders condemned unilateral military interventions, economic sanctions and the arbitrary use of unilateral coercive measures in violation of international law and universally recognized standards of international relations.
