Abu Dhabi Crown Prince discusses cooperation with IAEA chief
The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, discussed Monday with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano and a delegation of ministers participating in the 21st International Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Energy. Abu Dhabi, ways and frameworks of joint cooperation between the two sides.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed reviewed the main themes of the conference on innovative nuclear energy technologies, managing their sustainability and meeting the global energy needs.

The meeting also reviewed the growing needs to provide energy to meet the requirements of expansion of development projects in different countries and the importance of benefiting from peaceful nuclear energy technologies in promoting and stimulating growth and progress for achieving sustainable development and adherence to the implementation of international safety and non-proliferation standards.

The conference, which is attended by 68 countries and 700 participants every four years, will discuss challenges and opportunities for the development of peaceful nuclear energy programs and the role of nuclear energy in meeting global energy needs and contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals and mitigating the effects of climate change.
