The death toll from a suicide attack on a mosque in the Dasht Barchi district west of the capital Kabul has risen to 39, bringing the total death toll to 72, the official said on Friday.

Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danesh said at least 39 people were killed in the blast at the Imam Imam mosque in the Dasht Parchi district of western Kabul.

The attack on the mosque coincided with the bombing of another mosque hit in the central Gore province, killing at least 33 people.

No one has claimed responsibility for any of the attacks yet, but the terrorist organization has already claimed responsibility for similar attacks.
