Saudi Arabia is the first Arab and Asian team to play the opening match in the history of the World Cup
The draw for the 2018 World Cup in Russia was held Friday in the Russian capital Moscow, Saudi Arabia in Group A with Egypt, Russia and Uruguay.

The Saudi team will open their World Cup campaign against Russia in the opening match on June 14 and play in the second round with Uruguay on June 20, while finishing their group stage with an Arab encounter against Egypt on June 25.

 One of the legends of English football, Gary Linker, led the 2018 World Cup draw in Moscow on Friday with the help of Russian sports journalist Maria Komandnaya, along with some of the French giants Laurent Blanc, the Englishman Gordon Banks and the Brazilian Cavio, Italian Fabio Cannavaro, Uruguayan Diego Forlan, Argentina's Diego Maradona, Spain's Carles Puyol and Russian Nikita Simonian.
