Finnish police announced on Friday (18 August 2017) the injury of several people stabbed in Turku, referring to the arrest of a suspect. Police said on Twitter that they "shot at the legs of a suspected perpetrator and was arrested" recommending to "avoid the center of Turku" in western Finland.
Police have asked citizens to stay away from the city center. While the Finnish newspaper Torun Sanomat reported that at least one person was killed in the attack.
Finnish police said they had beefed up their forces at Helsinki airport and train stations after several people were stabbed in the city of Turku.
