Saudi Arabia, after 35 years reopen the cinemas
Saudi Arabia will reopen cinemas next year, after more than 35 years. The authorities of the kingdom have made it known.

According to what was announced, today a resolution was approved that paves the way for the licensing of commercial cinemas.

The cinemas in the Saudi kingdom were closed in the eighties, following an ultra-conservative turn that now the crown prince Mohammed bin Salman seems willing to reverse, with a series of reforms that provide significant social openings.

Including the revocation, from next year, of the ban on women to drive cars. According to government sources, the first cinemas will be open predictably from March next year.
