The Egyptian gas giant, "Zohr", is considered one of the most important projects for the development of natural gas fields being implemented. The companies in the field of oil and gas classified the field as the largest gas discovery in the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean basin and one of the largest discoveries in the world.

The most important information about the field:

1 - The Petroleum Agreement for Disclosure was signed in January 2014 after the Italian company Eni won the international bid presented by Egyas

2- The discovery was achieved on August 30, 2015 in the Shorouk concession area in the Mediterranean Sea, covering about 100 km of concession area.

4. Early production began in December 2017 with an average production of 350 million cubic feet gradually increasing to 1.2 billion cubic feet per day before the end of the first half of 2018 and gradually reaching 2.7 billion cubic feet per day in 2019.

5. Development of detection has reached a record time, taking only 28 months before production begins.

6 - 7 wells were drilled in the first phase with investments of 5 billion dollars increased to 8 billion dollars and increased to 16 billion throughout the project period.

10- Experimental start-up of the Zohr field increases Egypt's natural gas production to 5.5 billion cubic feet per day.

11. The production of gas from the Zahr field will contribute to a savings of $ 60 million per month, and will increase with the completion of production to $ 2 billion annually.
