Erdogan: Turkey is tired of negotiations on membership in the European Union
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that the republic had long waited for membership in the European Union, was very tired of the talks and was ready for action. This happened in Paris after talks with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Ankara is not going to constantly ask for Turkey's admission to the European Union, the Turkish leader said, Tass reports.

The negotiation process continues from 2005. For accession Turkey must successfully complete negotiations with the European Commission on 33 of 35 points (two do not require agreement). After that, all EU members must vote for Turkey unanimously.

On July 6, 2017, the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling for the suspension of negotiations on Turkey's accession to the EU before amendments in its constitutional reform. In April 2017, a referendum on the Turkish constitutional reform was held: presidential powers were significantly expanded.
