The Egyptian police killed six members of an organization allegedly responsible for the bombing of the head of security in Alexandria on Saturday, the interior ministry said Saturday.

According to the announcement, "the Interior Ministry has hit an effective blow to the armed wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Hsam movement, at the dawn of March 25th." The police officers "identified a terrorist haven (...) and exchanged fire with the men there, killing six of them".

The Muslim Brotherhood claims to reject violence.

So far, police have identified three of the six dead. The ministry stressed that this organization was responsible for the Saturday's bombing, which resulted in two police officers being killed. It is unclear, however, whether the six members who were killed today acted actively in that attack.
